Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
I would be more than happy to be a guinepig , If only I had the option of 10mb ... Currently on 3mbit in Middlesbrough (which I have seen no mention of on any of the status pages (if a mod could give me more info on my region) )
Just asks me to phone the 0800 number when I try to upgrade.

have you considered downgrading to 1m now so on Dec 8th you have the option to force the upgrade to 10meg via the tier migration page (in theory).

Hey, after my post I get this:

How good is that...except I cant afford it either!
Erm...I clicked on Continue and it just cut me off my remote access so I think it may have just rebooted my modem...arghh!! Best ring NTL now...

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
hmmm that's really not on - all customers should get the same service for the price they are paying where technically possible. especially if you ring up and ask for it!

@hongman: can you log into your modem and see if it updated your speeds? Http://192.168.100.1 user/pass: root
I'm willing to give the upgrade a try if someone from NTL can confirm it will put me on 10mbit and not 3mbit

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
so has the 3mb config file that NTL send to the modems gone completely off the system ?
I was thinking, If the config file is been modified to the 10mb, Could we phone NTL and ask them to send the config file to the modem again? hence 10mb

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
Ok, update. I rang and checked, he said that I am still on 2Mb, but becuase I got that page, I can get 10Mb in 2-3 weeks as they are 'streamlining' the network now.
Sorted!

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
HI all, first post here.
What i don't get is these people who are on 1 & 2 mb can see the option to upgrade to 10mb for 37.99?? What happened to the different tiers? ie... if i'm on 2mb i should be able to go onto 10mb for the same price but with a lower cap? It seems to me that the upgrade screen is supposed to be saying upgrade to 3 mb (which will soon be 10mb).
NTL pretty much breezed through the last upgrade, this however is a royal frikking mess.. what are they playing at?
Also, if this is true about new customers getting it first i'm gonna go mad!! that sorta thing is just NOT on!

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
the new customer thing is a farce but 3 meg first is resonable as long as the wait isent too long
