Re: Hey A queston about ntl's additional box's
It's still £15 month. I have two extra.
It's one of the reasons I'm seriously looking at sky, which is only £10 month.

Re: Hey A queston about ntl's additional box's
The current price is £15 per box per month, however that is being constantly reviewed.
Remember that with Sky to get an additional box you have to pay the cost of the box (currently £49 until November 30th, £99 thereafter) and pay the replacement cost if it breaks after the initial 12 months.

Re: Hey A queston about ntl's additional box's
Both ntl and Sky charge a fee for the additional box which will get you the same channels as you have on your main box.

£15 per month no matter what package you have, all you are doing is paying for the rental of a second STB. Sky may be better value in the short term but if the box fails NTL have to replace it and if you change your mind you can cancel it and get NTL to pick it up.

Re: Hey A queston about ntl's additional box's
£50 installation for additional stb and socket (free if its already there etc) & £15 /mo (£7 for analogue) for rental.
additional stb has same package but you can drop stuff from additional stbs like adult channels & PPV access.

Re: Hey A queston about ntl's additional box's
If you are willing to restrict the household to watching any Freeview channel plus one shared cable channel then you could do something like this:

You'll need to add a Freeview box at each remote TV but they are under £30 these days.
And the extra rental cost per month for this arrangement? Absolutely zilch!

A £50 box pays for itself after 10 months then You can get breakdown insurance for sky boxes I believe, and at the end of the day, how many actually fail, it's no different to any other electrical entertainment item you buy (tv/dvd/cd/tivo/whatever). Ntl used to charge <£10 which was reasonable. I'm getting a bit fed up of the current rip-off price
(and to top it off, some of my channels have started to intermittantly fail again).
