Millionaire on day release!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4296976.stm

Un-feckin believable! The fact that this guy bought a ticket whilst he should be improsined beggers belief. He won 7 million but we now have to pay the rapists right to anominoty .. i thought this country was going downhill fast but this has got my goat!

At a time when i can't find an NHS dentist willing to treat my children, boat and pushed toooo far springs to mind.

Re: Millionaire on day release!

Whats dentistry and the lottery got in common?

The guy bought a ticket whilst out on leave, the ticket could have been bought by you, or me or some other prisoner on leave. He paid his money took his gamble and won, fair and square.

Maybe he shouldnt have been able to buy a lottery ticket, but so are many under 16's would you deny them 7 million?

As for dentists, get onto your MP, its got nothing to do with the prison service or camelot.

Re: Millionaire on day release!

I was highlighting a point as to were my tax payments should lie. And yes i would deny under 16's the money because they aren't allowed to play?

The problem I have with this is - it is costing the Goverment (tax payer) £10K a month just to feed and watch him - now he has all that money he should pay for it himself
