Mercury Music Prize winners Antony and the Johnsons

I'm not a big fan of any of the bands that were on the shortlist of the Mercury Music Prize. Not even Leeds-based Kaiser Cheifs, who sound like bunch of half-drunk students trying to be a band.

But the winning prize act "Antony and the Johnsons"....??!!

For those fortunate enough never to have heard any of their "music"... here's a link to their website: http://www.antonyandthejohnsons.com/ (It's almost as crap as the dross they play.)

The lead singer sounds like a mix of of Kermit the frog, John Major (or that voice you put on to mock the school spanner) and Dennis Roussos.

This is about the crappiest rubbish I've heard in years... Antony and the Johnsons make Timmy Mallett and Mr Blobby sound like Mozart and Debussy!

Does anyone here actually like their music? And if so, why???

Not me...never heard of them and having listened to their stuff..............I have to say that they are Johnsons

I'd never heard of them until the Mercury Prize.

Not keen on what I have heard by them.
