Hope it all works out saxo, know the feeling about cash being tight all too well, there's always too much month left, never enough money.
Anyway, keep cool bud, and don't let all this make us loose one of the best posters on this forum

Good luck.
Is there no cash you have saved up for a rainy day that you could use ?
I hope it all turns out ok for you.

Re: How long do i have

You can't really blame NTL for you not having the cash in the bank to meet the DD payment which I would presume always comes at around the same date each month.

Talking to the bank is your best bet. I have had an account with the Bank of Scotland (which is the BOS in Halifax Bank Of Scotland) for many years and they have always given excellent service. Talking to them before something happens gets better results than waiting for penalties to be applied. Try telephoning your branch and having a word.

You can kind of, NTL wont always move a DD date (they wouldn't for me) so when you go from being payed on 1st of month to the 10th then it can screw things up... as some companies will move your bill date, others wont.

I get round it by paying by standing order if a company wont move the DD for me and ditched NTL in anycase.

Re: How long do i have

You could try asking Halifax for an overdraft (or extension). That usually goes in immediately and should stop you having to pay charges.
