telewest regions

They have said in their announcement they will be upgrading speeds region by region as from september,
but i have not been with telewest for very long so i have not experienced past speed upgrades,
I am in the south west London area (putney, barnes if you know the area)
and wonder if anyone knows, from past speed upgrades, if this area is near the top?
Of course, they might do it a different way this time, but, if anyone knows what happened with the upgrade from 750k-1mb, 1.5mb-2mb, 3mb-4mb upgrade, please say so!!
Thanks! (lol i am dying to have 4mb bb!!!!)
PS will they do the 1mb-4mb upgrades before the 10mb upgrade, as the 10mb is new technology, but upgrading customers to 4mb is easier for telewest as it is already an available speed....?

Re: telewest regions

andy, they may well do it the same way NTL do (if an area is ready, they enable the higher speeds).

However, telewest have been know to ignore an area entirely if it's too expensive to upgrade.

It would be easier for telewest to do the 512-2mb upgrades and the 1mb-4mb upgrade cuz they are already using these speeds, whereas the 10mb has not been used before.

Well I hope the ydont leave my region out or else il tell em off lol.

arobbins is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: telewest regions

check out http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/evenfaster for details - apparently this page will tell all in September about which regions will get the speeds first, with all being upgraded early next year.

Interestingly, upload speeds will be no where near these fast speeds.

Re: telewest regions

my guess is they'll do the 10meg upgrades first, because of the price drop in the new 2 - 4 Meg services
