..Sound Advice Please...
I am registered deaf and am reliant on a hearing aid..
I listen too TV via headfones which are connected to an amp, which I turn up to max!!
The sound is direct from audio out on the TV to the amp
The STB is connected to the TV via fully wired scart
Problem...The sound ..on most channels...Is barely loud enough for me to hear comfortably
No I do not want sub-titles.....
Is it possible to increase the volume from the STB..Samsung..or is it "fixed" ??
Does anyone know of an alternative solution ??
Thanks

Re: ..Sound Advice Please...
Is your remote control programmed to control the volume on your tv, or on the stb itself?
It it is the stb, then you can use this to check that the volume is at 10 (you get a little on screen display giving a figure 1-10)

Re: ..Sound Advice Please...
Hmm.
In that case, on the remote (whilst on normal tv with no mini guide etc displayed) press page up, then page down, then blue.
This will bring you some information pages. On here (although i can't remember where and which page) it will tell you the STB volume. What is this showing as?

Re: ..Sound Advice Please...
I don't think you can change it from that page....
I believe the only ways to do it are to unprogram your remote, change the stb volume, then program it for tv again, or from the engineering menu... although i'm sure if i'm wrong someone will be along to correct me soon

yes you can...
the smart card is paired to the box, so leave those where they are, but you can unscrew the coaxial connections from each box and just swap them over

Re: ..Sound Advice Please...
There are devices available from places like the social services (usually free) and/or the RNID (usually cost you) which are amplifier boxes.
They plug into your headphones socket on any device, and then you plug the headphones into them, and they do a great job of amplifying sound.
If you do have a hearing impairment, you should ask your local social services office for an assessment and they will come and fit your house up will all sorts of devices and they'll do it for free. My brother even has smoke alarms which setof a vibrating pad under his pillow so that if there is a fire when he is asleep, he will be woken up by the smoke alarms.

Re: ..Sound Advice Please...
makikomi,,,Thanks,I am fortunate to have all that, tho the amp is/was still not powerfull enough, tho to be fair that was before I was aware that the volume on the STB could be changed...
Is your brother aware that the vibrating pad will alse detect the phone and door bell ?...
