Wanting to get into online gaming
Hey guys, i want to get my PC up and running for Online gaming, its not the best PC in the world, but here are the spec's.
WinXP Pro
Athlon 1800+ CPU @ 1500mhz
512MB DDR
Nvidia G-force 4 MX440
And im currently on a 2mb NTL connection. I tried to install Doom3, it worked but somewhat sluggush. Can anyone recommend a good game to start me off with, something along the Unreal line i guess but im a bit of a n00b when it comes to using the PC for gaming. PS2 however..... but I do want to use my PC.
Cheers for any advice guys
Kev

You could get this....
http://play.com/play247.asp?pa=sr&pa...C&title=180277
Or This....
http://play.com/play247.asp?pa=sr&pa...C&title=490262
Both of which the clan here play.
Then come onto the clan server a few times After which you could apply to join the pc clan if you so desire.

Also a bit more ram wouldn't do any harm to performance, to a point

Probably moh (especially if you're that worried about your gfx card) - Although I manage to play both ok on my laptop - which only has a radeon 7500 in it.
But I play both so I'm biased

Re: Wanting to get into online gaming
I think that's probably slower than the GF4, although it does support DirectX 8 (GF4 MX is a DX 7 card)

Re: Wanting to get into online gaming
MOH should be okay on those specs, but CoD may struggle (I guess those are the games linked to).
The PC Clan here is superb. We not in any ladders as yet, but we enjoy getting together and playing on our server that we can configure ourselves.

Re: Wanting to get into online gaming
I play Halo alot online, and its specifcations are generous, just the FPS is known to be slow thanks to a poor port over.
I love the multiplayer though.
