DVD Player via USB2?
Has anyone recommendations on a USB, i.e. external, DVD player.
Writer is not required, just something cheap that will play movies to plug into a USB2 port.

Not a personal recommendation as such, but this one looks fine:

Re: DVD Player via USB2?
tbh, a writer won't be *much* more. about 20 bucks-ish. If you envisage ever writing dvds it'd be worth shelling out the little extra.

heres a cheap way with a bonus. buy a ata raid card for 12 quid off ebuyer, route an ide cable out the back of the case and an extension molex spliter say 2 quid ,plug a cheap lite on internal dvd rom in say 15 quid from ebuyer and your left with a spare ide port for a hard drive or something
total cost less than 30 quid and with bonuses

you're buggered if you've got a laptop or no room though.

Re: DVD Player via USB2?
To clarify...this is a prezzie for someone so cost is minimal
I want it for his laptop. And cause its a prezzie don't want to mess about with external caddies...just an external DVD-rom drive...nothing fancy and don't want to spend £20 more on it being a writer
