XP: logon - unread emails?
Hello,
I have WinXP Pro installed, setup so that ach member of the family has thier own desktop etc.
On the user logon/selection screen it say that my son's account has 16 unread emails.
Where?
How would we go about finding out what is telling XP that there are unread emails?
We have no accounts setup in OE, all use gmail yet only my son's has this message?
Any suggestions - ta.

It's probably a hotmail account, linked to a (microsoft) passport account, you can probably access it via MSN Messenger.

Yup, thanks for that, it's 2 hotmail accounts.
But they are not my sons.
methinks it's his mates that's been logging in here.
Gonna have to remove them now.

Re: XP: logon - unread emails?
If you use Tweak UI there is a setting in there where you can turn it off.

Re: XP: logon - unread emails?
Because of e-mail downloading problems I've used the Ntlworld.com Homepage to access my e-mail. Once I've read them is there any method of marking them as unread so that when the e-mail problem rights itself those e-mails will be sent to my machine in the usual wayto be access by Microsoft Outlook?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Nice one : I hate seeing 9300 unread messages next to my logon id. Hey since I'm a convert to thunderbird I might as well delete the account out of outlook express and hopefully that'll delete the message upon logon ? Me hopes......
