Recording from PC to cassette
I would like to get some MP3s off the PC onto cassette tape for use in the car, as I'm a luddite and don't have a CD player in it, even though it's comparitively modern.
My question is, being stupid, how on Earth do i go about doing this? I don't want brilliant quality since the tape player isn't brilliant anyway, just so that it's playable.

Re: Recording from PC to cassette
Get a 3.5mm to 2 phono cable.
Connect the 2 phono to the inputs on your tape deck.
Connect 3.5mm to usual output on your soundcard.
Play on the computer, record on the tape deck.
Hope that helps.

Reemmber to try it out for a few seconds before you record the whole thing to make sure you have the volume levels set correctly.

Or, pop down to Camlab... just behind House of Fraser in the town centre... opposite the old railway museum. Explain to them what you want to do, adn they'll sell you the exact cable you need It's open this afternoon, but not open tomorrow.

Re: Recording from PC to cassette
The alternative way if you dont have auxilary inputs on your hifi, would be to burn it as a CD, then pop the Cd in your little hifi unit and then press record on the tape deck that should pick up the signal playing on the CD.

Re: Recording from PC to cassette
The MP3->CD->Tape method was the one I was going to suggest.
The only drawback is that some hi-fi units (in fact, many old ones) won't be able to read from CD-Rs, and even fewer will be able to read from CD-RWs.
