Damn my fans
I'm trying to get my bios to recognise the speed of my case fans so i can control it through speedfan in windows.
From what i understand you need a 3 wire smartfan, well, my fans have three wires, 2 of them go to the power, and one of them to the the dials on the side of the case (why can't i use these you ask? because the control they give is not enough, neither can i switch them off with that).
Now if i was to cut that wire and put it into the plug which connects the board next to the other 2 pins (the sense pin i think it is) would it work?
Thanks for any replies.

Re: Damn my fans
I got a case fan controller and the fans wired into the controller worked a treat sadly it sold to a friend before now, I belive it was a rambus controller from maplins electronics.

This is one of the times I have to ask why bother? the only reason I can see is if there to noisy and you want to turn them down, the important thing is that the mobo monitors temperature and if this is ok then all is working fine

Re: Damn my fans
I prefer my HDD cooler to report the RPM speeds of the fans in my case, including the 4 temperatures I have set

Actually, I'm surprised no one has designed spoilers and body graphics kits for PC cases..
Add a tinted screen to the monitor, and a sound system with a huge subwoofer, and you could have the perfect Chav PC...
