You might find that you have slightly higher latency.
Unless you do serious video editing or something like that then I wouldn't bother with the extra RAM - gaming doesn't need it yet.

The benchmark of mine was run on a flashed X800 Pro running at higher clock speeds than the XT PE with an Athlon 64 3400 (running @ stock) on a ****y MSI K8N board. I haven't run it since I upgraded, here's the original url though http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=254626
If you're running an Athlon 64 4000 and a 6800 Ultra, I'd have expected you to get more, check you haven't got AA/AF enabled.

Err, I think 1GB is enough. I have 1.28GB and my system never uses 800MB of it.

AA & AF are 'application controlled'
...any idea why it doesn't run all the tests?

World of Warcraft also needs boat loads of memory, far too much disk swappage with 1 gig.

If you really want to get a performance boost try a Linux distro Actually, it would be nice to see what Doom3 for Linux would be like on your machine compared with windows.

Prolly because my card was clocked higher than yours, that's the only reason I can think of.

Not really, you got the 6800GT, you would at least get 1000.

The (presumably) CPU testing had the framerate in the 1's and 2's at some points
It was like 3DMark03 on my old PC
