Rammy only had issues installing his raid configuration, not the fact it was sata over ide as they both operate in the same way singely
|
No they don't.
On my board (Asus A8V Deluxe) it has to run off the VIA RAID controller so I have to do the same as Ramrod.

Re: Building my own PC
Download CPUZ from here:
http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-128.zip
Extract the ZIP, run the EXE and click on the RAM tab - this will tell you how many channels you are running at.

Yeah they do, you just disable the raid bios in your normal bios, rendering the ports as standard SATA controllers Thats how my current Asus P4P800-E works and i run my raid on there using a Promise sx-150 card
Unless of course the bios is completely different.... which i dont know why they would remove that system with a later board..... unless it causes issues with other parts of the board or something

It's an audigy 2zs. It should plug in, load drivers and pump sound through the headphones.

Re: Building my own PC
Have you disabled your on board sound in the bios? as windows is probably using the on board as default
You can just get windows to use the other sound card easy enough, but i would recommend disabling the on board
Any probs give me a bell.... you know the number

Have you disabled the onboard sound in the Bios ?
May be responsible for it.
[Edit: Phoenix beat me to it.]
I'm glad you are set up and all is working for you. It feels great having built that. I certianly remember feeeling well happy when I got my system up and running.
