All depends if the mobo supports it...AFAIK the board only support 0,1 and 5.

Here is a puzzler......my HDD's appear to support two different types of power supply plugs.........which should I use?

In fact, assuming you've still got the AV8 Deluxe mentioned at the start it only supports 0 & 1:

2 x Serial ATA, support RAID 0, RAID 1, and JBOD

So really, It's a case of RTFM

You can use either power connector, but if your PSU has the smaller SATA power leads then I would use them. Dedicated power line for the drives.

Not yet......I've had one of my techy patients take a look at it and he thinks the power spike has corrupted the laptops network settings......or something like that ....I'll let him rebuild it
