I'll pick up a surge protector at the same time as I get a new keyboard......

Get a personal UPS.... much better, cost you about £40 for an "okay" one (give you about 15 minutes of power on a rig like that) speak to kelly and it will surge protect it, and shut it down for you in the event of a power failure just incase your not around
