Angry RDY light on/off

Evening all.
Is anyone else having this problem? all systems are a go, then after a while the rdy light goes out
It aint long before the "RDY" light comes back on, play away for, give it an hour or so, then the bloody thing dose it again..
This aint much fun when your playing an online game
Any idea how to solve this? or just keep paying ntl for a sh*t service?

Thanks.

Re: RDY light on/off

Have a look through Robin Walkers site http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d...ips/index.html .

That will tell you how to check your signal levels but then what? You canot do anything yourself to fix them and have to call technical support.

Re: RDY light on/off

I occasionally get the same problem. Tech support told me nothing was wrong with the connection, so I just put it down to dillusions brought on by stress.

Re: RDY light on/off

Hi thank's for the welcome (",)
and cheer's for the link.
Look's like i gotta ring em up.........grrrrrrrrrr
ntl:home (Ambit): the SYNC light goes out or flashes for downstream problems; the RDY light goes out or flashes for upstream problems.
If the above occur, an immediate call to your ISP's technical support is justified. There is no point trying to get the PC working while the above conditions persist....grrrrr again

a call to 150 , assuming you have an ntl phoneline will give you the option to get thru to t.s.

Re: RDY light on/off

Hi Next Time Leave (NTL? unfortunate ),

to CF, I would say that (given the symptoms you describe) a call to CS is definately warrented.

Do you have the same problems when you aren't playing games online? Is your connection stable for other activites (web/email etc)?

Re: RDY light on/off

Similar problem, occasionally over the past week the connection is lost & the 'ready' light starts flashing slowly. Eventually it seems to give up trying to connect, & the synch and other lights go out as well. Can usually reconnect after about 30 mins or so.

Makes no difference rebooting the modem, or whether firewall or the PC itself is turned on or off.

Yes I have called CS, they offered a tech visit tomorrow which happens not to be convenient so have booked a visit after Easter, will see what happens. I can live with the problem for a week or two if its only intermittent.

Not too long a wait on the CS line, swiftly rerouted back from India when it was apparent a modem reboot wouldnt solve the problem! No complaints there.

Interesting this has started happening since the speed upgrades. Co-incidence? Maybe....
