Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
I just hope after the palava of my brush with NTL my bill comes out vaguely right
You're better off not messing with it really (if you have STB). Tends to cause more aggro than it is worth

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
Done my upgrade (SACM, Langley) from 750k to 2mb, via the ntlworld tier change link. I had to reboot the modem though, to get it to pick up the new speed.

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
Used the link and painlessly upped from 750 to 2mb. No reboot required.
Bromley (ex C&W), down here in Hove.
Way to go ntl!

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
Anyone know how to find the name that's associated with my cable modem? I tried the tier migration with ALL the names I have for my email accounts, and everyone brings the same response:

The username (xxx) entered is not the registered subscriber associated with this cable modem. Please go back and try again with your cable modem username and password. If you need further help, please contact our customer support (0800 052 2000).

The speed at which you download things, is as only as fast as the server that can give it to you.
Have you tried using a really high end corporate site, like downloading MSN/Yahoo messenger, or a really popular torrent?

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
Upgraded via the web site. As previously pointed out in this thread the site was updated to show the proper options, however once you get by the password state, on the 750k option it offers to give you a 1.5 X speed increase to 2 MB - someone buy NTL a calculator please!
