Re: Ntl FTP Unaccessible?

I can't get into my webspace either. haven't used it for a while as I publish to another hosting service. However it would be useful to store stuff in the NTL space.

I am networked so my PC has an IP 192.168.etc

Does this mean I can only upload if I connect my PC straight into the CM This may be basic stuff but one of you smart guys is bound to know.

Re: Ntl FTP Unaccessible?

Using a NAT router should be fine, as long as the router is picking up an NTL ip.
What error are you getting - does it login and then disconnect or is the login rejected?

I have no problem accessing NTL webspace through a NAT router.

The most common reason for difficulty accessing the webspace is where people change their e-mail password, but the original one still applies to the homepage login.

Re: Ntl FTP Unaccessible?

I get the logon rejected box and clear it then try 'file=>logon using' but still can't connect. The username and password work when I login at other places on the website, so its not 'brainfade'.

I guess I'll have to try getting advice from N TL support

Re: Ntl FTP Unaccessible?

Hi Gaz

what I meant was all those places on the NTL website that you need to sign in to with a username and password - 'your account' and e-mail admin, for example.

I don't use my NTL e-mail address and so rarely go in there now. My hosting service gives me 100 e-mail boxes and as it is my own puny domain/website, I don't get targetted by spammers.

Thanks for taking an interest.

the password for the webspace is not necessarily the same as the password for the email user name-> if you have changed this email details these are not usually changed for the webspace logon.

If you want to PM me the username in question i can check that the webspace is working properly.
