Re: Installation Today!
The serial number will be ntl-ct8-cj486. They are all the same.
You will then need a PIN number for when you run the CD. This should have come out by letter, if it hasn't, then you'll need to call ntl to get it I'm afraid.

Re: Installation Today!
From memory I think the serial number is only needed if registering without the CD. All it actually does is tell the reg server whether you have cable modem or a set top box.
The PIN is specific to you, and is needed whichever method you use to register. You'll be asked for PIN and surname, but you only need to do this once. All the PIN does is identify your broadband account, so that when the modem is registered by the system it knows whose account to add it to.

internet seems fine, phone seems fine. pace box has crashed once already and we don't have our packages yet.
It took 2 external engineers, 1 internal and 2 regional managers to install the services!!!

It is amazing NTL still leg it on installs. When I had Telewest installed the guy did not leave until he was browsing the Interweb via the cable modem.

To be honest I would not want an installer mucking about with my PC and installing the service on it as NTLs guide tells you how to. As long as the installer checks levels, etc I would be quite happy to let him go. He could hang about and have a cuppa whilst I completed the installation if he wanted.
