It's not called 'Mozilla Firefox', it's just called 'Mozilla' and has a folder inside it called 'Firefox'. The tree on my setup looks like this:

Re: Cant clear several things in Firefox

plus you will have to have your hidden folders shown as well , but then you may already have that

ik

EDIT on your machine the default folder may not have the same numbers, as long as it is the .default folder.

and Chris' tree is a good way to find it

found an easier way, if people get stuck:

Go into Run
Type: %AppData%
Double Click: Mozilla
then: Firefox
Then: Profiles
Then delete the subfolder

Found on:
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile

Beg pardon, but that describes exactly what Ik told you to do already, the only difference is the way you jump to the 'Application Data' folder - and TBH you can get to that folder in four doubleclicks, starting from 'My Computer', and without typing anything.

Not easier, IMO.

But the Mozilla folder is immediately inside the Application Data folder. Regardless of how you navigate to it, it is always in the same place.

Four clicks from My Computer is certainly easier than typing in the Run box. The issue here isn't that the method you found at Mozilla.org is easier, it's that you just didn't look properly when you tried to find the Mozilla folder first time round. I guarantee you, that folder will be in the same place regardless of which way you look for it.

Be warned: you'd lose all your passwords, cookies, bookmarks and extensions with the above method.

Re: Cant clear several things in Firefox

Wayne, if you can't clear the cache & history etc., try closing FireFox down, & then re-open it & try again. Works for me if it doesn't seem to clear the cache initially.

You could also crash the firefox.exe process which will clear all temp files...this method is not really recommended though.

the problem you could not find it was probably that you did not go into your correct folder for the application data.

if you look through your machine you will notice (on mine anyway):
C > Documents & Settings > Administrator > Application Data* > Mozilla
C > Documents & Settings > All Users > Application Data*
C > Documents & Settings > ikthius > Application Data* > Mozilla
C > Documents & Settings > Default User > Application Data*
C > Documents & Settings > Local Service > Application Data
C > Documents & Settings > Network Service > Application Data

* = hidden folders, you must show hidden folders to see them.

Th red one is the one you wanted, but what you found on Mozill.org was a quick way to get into the folder I have highlighted red, which you could have gotten into quicker if you follwed both mine and chris ' instructions.

But I am glad you got it sorted.

And deleting thte subfolders deletes everything, if you followed it a bit further and just got rid of the contents of your cache you would still have everything else intact.

Don't bother Wayne, there's nothing you could create that hasn't been thought of.
