program to monitor usage

hi

well last logged on 27-01-2004 nearly 1 year ago, anyway so the news about the upgrade of speed from 750 - 2mb was a great surprise.

what i want to know is will ntl provide software so you can monitor your usage and not exceed the cap, or does anyone know of any free programs that are available that will do this.

thanx

Re: program to monitor usage

I use NetMeter from http://readerror.gmxhome.de/

The website doesn't do justice to this little free tool. You get usage stats by day, week and month and projected usage.

It will monitor a network card on the machine it's running on, not a remote machine. You could redirect all traffic through a single machine before hitting the router. I am considering this approach to get my "total" usage of internet traffic.

lol... yeah.. i used to use du meter a while back... might give this one a try... is it just me or does this thing not have a trasparency option... looks liek i'll have to have it minimised to tray all the time, and just let it record... it was bareable when DU was transparent...

This may be of use for remote monitoring, if your components support SNMP.
