That's like driving at 40 in a 30 zone, then moaning at someone who overtakes you doing 45, both are doing wrong but one isn't as naughty as the other?
LOL

No, it isn’t…
It’s like going to one restaurant where the Health Rating is 4 out of 5 and comparing it to another where it is 1 out of 5 - there’s a slight risk with the first meal, but eating at the second place will probably poison you with the ordure you’re digesting…
You’re doing the old Trump/Steve Bannon ploy - false equivalence…

The European Commission, the EU’s unelected executive body, has proposed a 2028–34 Multiannual Financial Framework worth 1.26 percent of EU gross national income (GNI). Britain’s latest GNI stands at £3.0 trillion (~$4.0 trillion). Apply the Commission’s own ratio to that figure, and the indicative gross burden is about £38 billion (~$50.3 billion) a year, or roughly £730 million (~$970 million) a week. That calculation sits upstream of receipts, the precise EU financing formula, and whatever terms an accession deal might eventually contain.
|
So is the basis for the figure true or not?
EU commission.

On 16 July 2025, the Commission presented its proposal for an ambitious and dynamic Multiannual Financial Framework (“MFF”) amounting to almost EUR 2 trillion(or 1.26% of the EU’s gross national income on average between 2028 and 2034)

Most are just upset Papa because their passport is now a different colour and they need to wait an extra 10 minutes to get through customs.

Why should I mean one off the other. In my humble opinion one is as bad as the other. Same in USofA Trump or democratics not sure which I dislike more

Almost the same as siding with the EU or the USA . . . I'd rather stay independent and play one against the other

Customs, or border controls ?
We had no delays when we went to Spain in August.

The site you quoted, which was probably provided by the search algorithm which shows you things like you’ve seen before…

So complete unknowns, compared to FACTS.
The claim was that the figures were biased. They are based upon FACTS.
That's before adding in other EU income such as a %age of tariffs on non-EU goods, eg from Australia. Then there are the proposals for EU wide debt.
Whether or not it adds up to the claimed figure is another matter. There is no possible argument against it, because the possible actual figure is a complete unknown. Whatever the figure, it wouldn't be cheap.

Question 3, ‘what would be the state of the country now if it still were a member of the EU?’ Better? Worse? Show your working. Probably better in some respects, maybe worse in others. I’m not noticing many riots in the streets of London right now.
Just a thought.
