No, Virgin never even had Sky Showcase + 1/Sky One+ 1(pre September 2021) either, , was only a matter of time these closed , considering they didn't bring back Sky One + 1 on Sky in February

one thing i'd love to come to the 360 box is being able to renumber your channels. im from liverpool and i hate having bbc one north west as my regional channel. as we all know liverpool is a welsh city really so i hate having to go to that channel manually rather than it just appearing one channel 1

If you create a profile, you can select your favourite channels. If you select the BBC region you want, that’s the one that will be displayed at no 1 when you have selected that profile.

The side button on your remote is the profiles button. It is also the last icon on the top of your Home Screen.

Sky recordable boxes will be available into the next decade, so when Virgin switch to streaming, i'll be switching to Sky Q.

Sky and Virgin will not be moving wholly to streaming any time soon. Look how long it is taking to get TIVO and V6 customers to move to 360 boxes - years. Not only that, but if Virgin were seriously moving to streaming only sometime soon, they would not be moving TIVO and V6 customers onto the 360 platform but straight to streaming.

Similarly, I no longer have SkyQ, but up until I cancelled earlier this year I didn't have anyone try and move me to Sky Stream. Sky still have customers on their pre SkyQ boxes.

Whilst virtually all new customers are on Virgin Stream [and Sky Stream], there will come a time when the economics changes, but that is years to come, and I doubt either company knows when that will be.

I'm certain that VM's retirement of its V6s is due to the end of its agreement to use TiVo's middleware. Although nothing has been published, as is common, I think it's reasonable to believe an end date is in 2027.

The TV 360 isn't just a cable box: it's very capable of streaming as well, so VM simply needs to flash firmware over the network to get the box to boot into IP mode and behave exactly like a Stream box. This will be a modified version of the firmware for Stream as it will do some other stuff, e.g. disabling redundant cable tuners and hard disk. VM will do this as it's easy and there is no sense in replacing all 1.5m TV 360s with Streams.

Yes, that would make sense, but the end result would still be streaming only, which isn't what I want.

Let's hope not, but are they still manufacturing the recordable boxes? If not, these boxes are old now and, as they fail with age, a replacement streaming box may well be all that's available.
