We are in the middle of a cost of living crisis with souring energy bills predicted to rise 25% in January and fuel prices being what they are . Any governement taking serious the increase of a charge for something like the BBC will create uproar. I just do not see it happening

I totally get that. But the objection to this is going to be from those that do not pay for their TV licence. Saying you don't watch BBC is a bit contentious at best, or saying don't have a TV (pushing it). If it's cheaper than the licence fee now then there'll be a lot that will agree to it.

But then there's that choice in paying for it than being forced to pay for it is the main point. But I don't know what the internet and a broadband 'tax' has anything to do with the BBC. So basically using this tax as an excuse and nothing more to make people pay it. That is something I don't agree with.

At least this way there's be no more needs to have vans to parked up outside your house with their radars to see if you're watch the BBC, lol.

Radical idea why not let the public vote on it after all they are civil servants and should be serving those who voted them in . A group of rich out of touch elite making decisions for us without even consulting us

Simple vote do you want to keep the BBC as is or not. Lets me honest the BBC has lost a lot of faith over the last 20 years and the age of unquestioned propaganda is long since gone .
