I don't think that is what it means at all and it's an incredible act of contortion to try and get it to stretch into that

I have no issue with those who don't believe that our existence (including that of Anne Widdicombe) continues after 'death', the process is just the same.

Some years ago a friend and I got onto the subject with a retired schoolmaster at his home. He eventually asked for us to change the subject as it was frightening him, so we did of course. Some time later we learnt that he'd 'died'. Whilst visiting a Spiritualist Church (in Pickering IIRC), he came through and said it was just like what I had said.

So, whilst I regretted the fact that we'd frightened him at the time, I was subsequently pleased that the information had helped him continue to the next stage. The life within us is essentially energy and anyone who has studied physics will know that energy can never be destroyed, only changed.

To those who don't believe i'd just say bear it in mind as, when your time comes to leave this Earth, it will hopefully save any fear or confusion (some people aren't even aware that they've 'died' at first)!

Once again, you take an unproven hypothesis (the life within us is essentially energy) and then use that unproven hypothesis as a basis of the perversion of physics to prove your point.

People don’t ‘die’, they die - if there is such a thing as a soul, it has never been proven to be energy-based, so there is no scientific basis for your proposition…

Don’t take it the wrong way - if you want to believe in Spiritualism, fill your boots; but don’t try to say it’s been agreed by Parliament that it exists or that physics supports your proposition.
