As far as the monitors go this has to have been an agreement between Microsoft and LG. The spyware is installed via a Microsoft update and it seems this could affect monitors that were purchased unto 3 years ago.

The thing to do if you have Pro or enterprise Turn off the trigger install by meta data function in group policy then nothing can do this again . This is what I did then uninstalled the LG program

That is ok for you who is tech savvy but think of the thousands of users who dont have a clue about the software never mind how to stop it.
