Handwriting
Is there any such thing as a pad like backing to a piece of paper? Handwriting on a piece of paper that has several papers under it gives a cushioned like feel to a pen. I always write better with a pad of paper. I'm just curious if the same can be achieved with single pieces of paper.

Re: Handwriting
You’d get a not dissimilar feeling from writing on particularly heavy paper stock, I guess. Why do you ask?

My handwriting is soo much better when on a pad but for single pieces of paper it's difficult. Have I just invented something

I made an A4 piece of hardboard coated with leather as a writing pad.

Re: Handwriting
There's a great deal of satisfaction when you make something useful from a piece of scrap wood and the leather from an old sofa, definitely more satisfying than buying it online and waiting 4 days (or more) for delivery

Yes, it’s called a leather desk pad. You can spend a fortune on one, or pay under £15 on Amazon.

Re: Handwriting
I use an off cut from a piece of Anti-Static mat from a previous job.
I use a fountain pen 99% of the time, ranging from the £5 one I bought in 1980, up to my £700 Conway Stewart Alan Turin Edition.
I also have a A3 desk pad which has A3 blotting paper.
