Sounds like your walls are not insulated well.
I've no idea how good my walls are, the house is maybe 28 years old so can't be that modern and I saw them build it and they had some kind of yellow insulation between the outside and internal walls.
I leave my boiler set to 60 and I haven't had any issues with the house temps and as you know I turn the heating off between 10pm and 5.30am because I'm in bed so it's not needed.
I'm hoping to keep the heating permanently off now until it's needed again in October.
