New Router is impressive

I bought a new router which is the TPLink BE9300 V2.

I now get full internet speeds of 1.1\Gbps this is because it has 5 2.5GBE ports where my last router only had 1 2.5GBE port which was the wan port.

Best £159 I've spent in a long time.

Re: New Router is impressive

You mean the whole Mesh system ?

A 2.5G port on just my router would be of little use to me atm.
I would need to change all my network switches and PC ports to be 2.5G as well.

That wasnt really the point - you cant get higher speeds out of them.
Ports on a 1GB switch still only run at 1GB max, even if connected to a 2.5GB router port.

Re: New Router is impressive

As always these are of course theoretical maximums anyway and there are always factors that effect it . As a consumer product 2.5Gb is overkill

Now this is a pedant moment and something that has niggled me a long time and I am sure I make mistakes but I try to get it right

2.5Gbps is a hell of a lot slower than 2.5GBps by 8 times because a small b is a bit and a B is a byte

Internet speeds are always quoted in bits per second, you should be used to it.

that does not alter what I said it is still factual

My point was in the pedantic use of B for bit nothing to do with speed
