And don't forget - you had to watch stuff when it was aired so it was an occasion. VCR were expensive and not available until the late 70s.
Forced to watch It's a knockout, jimll fix it, Rolf Harris & some Dodgy DJs on totp lol yes the good old days.

Just some of the 92 series currently available, with their IMDB scores:

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms 8.7

Heated Rivalry 8.8
The Penguin 8.6
IT: Welcome to Derry 8.0
All Her Fault 7.5
Chernobyl 9.3
Dune: Prophecy 7.3
The White Lotus 8.0

Compare that to the majority of UK TV channels!

Ok firstly I have no idea what any of these shows are , correction I know gangs of London. I can think of shows I really liked for the first series, lost interest with the 2nd series. Ie once upon a time. Peaky blinders.

3 channels? That's when the rot set in, BBC 2 and it's glitzy presentation and Open University entertainment. Pffft! who needs 3 channels? Bring back the test card, that's what everyone really needs to watch.

Re: Sky Atlantic: Rubbish

It depends on your perspective. Mine is that I like discrete programmes, not 3 of a series in one go. Sky Atlantic was very different in the past and that was what peops wanted to see.

When colour TV started, I would spend half an hour outside the Radio Rentals store staring at the colour test card, I couldn't believe my eyes. Then I got a bonus at work and bought a 26" colour TV. It was Wimbledon time and the random colours in the crowd were hypnotic.

That is arguably a HBO problem then.

Shows like Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire (which was on Virgin for months), Six Feet Under , The Wire, The Sopranos they don't make anymore

All very true. But the real evil here is VM pretending that they listened to its customers and finally brought Sky Atlantic to them But really they just brought another platform of regurgitation and nonsense.

...and them advertising that changing to the 360 is the only way to get Sky Atlantic on Virgin is incorrect. It can be watched without a 360 on a phone, tablet or cast to a television set. But I'm sure they know this...

Can you hear yourself?! The 'real evil'. What the hell are you on about.

What 'regurgitation and nonsense' is there on Sky Atlantic?!

Watched broadwalk empire , mainly because may grandfather, used to talk about Atlantic city. Sat though sopranos could not make up my mind if was meant to be a comedy, really wondering why I bothered. If that was classic H B O , I will definitely pass.

Re: Sky Atlantic: Rubbish

Well that list is way less than 92, plus as I noted, most of them are "old" now.

Would you like me to list all 92 so you can tell us whether you personally enjoy each one, as if that actually matters!
