7.7% rise in April
Hello again all,
I have today had an email from VM saying I have to pay 7.7% more from April which will mean about another £8.50pm.
My 18 month contract ends mid summer time and I will then be paying £121pm for M500Volt speed internet, Mega TV which includes Sky Sports, TNT sports, Netflix etc and anytime chatter on our landline.
Is around £120pm the going rate for this package or are we paying too much?
By then I will be 80, the wife 76 and the 7.7% increase is a bit rich for two pensioners especially as we are at home all day in the winter and need to keep warm and have been paying OE £180pm.
I have been a VM customer for the best part of 25 years and I really like the service other than the inflation busting price increases.
We are from the analogue era and are not very keen on switching suppliers on most services we have on contract.
Any help is most welcome.

Re: 7.7% rise in April
Yes got my email as well.
7.7% is a bit steep and I will be cancelling my 1Gbit Broadband in a few months.
No sign of any upgrades like there used to be, VM for me only having Broadband have outpriced themselves and like you I have been a customer for around 23 years but its time to fly the nest.
I currently pay £59 per month for 1G Broadband and it is too much, with the price increase it will be £63.54. My 5G Sim will do me fine for £20 per month and ill tether the PC to that and use that.

Are you out of the minimum term of your contract? Ring them to cancel and see what they can offer? I've got all that bar TNT for £68 (71.50 from April) so there's a starting point.

Thanks for the help so far everyone.
I usually get on better when I can speak to a UK based CSA.
