Graphical interfaces, much more so these days, are flawed in so many ways.

Even then they require scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and fit about 3 things on a page that could 3-4 times as much.

And the images chosen are often not that clear as to what they are for (they may be hi-resolution but they are cluttered or poor choice) so it’s easy to either miss things or waste time needing to make extra button presses to see what the show actually is.
...and a fair few of them are out of date eg presenters who left years ago, logos which have been suoerceded by new ones etc.

Back then they were constantly working on the design and trying to come up with something better. Nowadays its just stick an image on there and forget about it. They don't really help with content discovery if the image doesn't tell the viewer very much. A few words can often summarise the content much better than a pic.

True but failure to update isn't confined to graphical layouts, that can happen whatever the interface.

Re: Virgin TV (2026)

According to the UK Cable TV changes blog there are two olympics dedicated channels testing in pre-launch config on four EPG slots (TBC).

TNT Sports Olympics 1 - 140 and 527

TNT Sports Olympics 2 - 141 and 528

I assume the non sports slots will allow a wider audience than just TNT subscribers to see the content.

It would be awful PR if they didn’t try to widen access beyond Premium subscription tiers, even it’s still a Pay TV audience.

I thought the whole point was that the BBC had secondary rights and could show 2 events at a given time? With the rest on pay.

I recall quite a PR & media reaction in the 2024 Olympics
