Re: Starmer’s chronicles
He is just useless. I think very few citizens of this country are literally our enemy. I seriously dislike Farage, but he isn't the enemy. I would leave that description to literal traitors, people who want to overthrow our democracy, terrorists and the like. People who try to change things democratically are not our enemies.

..... as in postponing democratic elections on the "plausible" pretext of local government reorganisation.

A bit like redrawing electoral boundaries like the last Govt did (not that it did them any good).

The two are not comparable. The GE vote took place with the new boundaries and the Tories lost. Now, in local elections, several million people are being disenfranchised.
Even if your proposition is valid, that does not excuse what Labour is doing now.

It's a waste of tax payers' money to hold elections in councils that will soon be abolished. It's just cheap politics to claim otherwise.

I'm surprised that you, of all people, should put a price on democracy.

I don't see it as an attack on democracy. I'm a little surprised to see you promoting profligate spending. Your belief in democracy is better served by advocating for MPs and councillors who switch parties mid term to stand for re-election if one is not close.

They didn’t cancel elections when we had the 1972 local government reorganisation.
Starmer is doing this to keep out Reform UK.

Nothing you've said is conducive to democracy. Democracy has no price. Switching parties and other shenanigans of that sort, political bickering, do not defeat democracy in the same way as denying the people their rightful vote.
It cannot be "profligate spending" to hold elections on a due date.

The Government doesn't redraw boundaries, the Boundary Commission does.

It's simple, he's running scared. To be honest i think he needs to be more worried about those close to him in his own party.
