I fixed 2 of my cassettes today
1) Gypsy - First album (Double album) - Paper Labels
2) BB KING - LA Midnight
The Gypsy cassette had a loose pad so I just glued it back on.... Im glad it works as I only have wood glue...
The BB KING tape was on 1 of those crappy early 70s Ampex tapes......No Rollers,The oad was a disgrace....... I ripped that open and just put it in anither shell, she sounds beautiful with a good pad!!!
Isnt BB KING good???

I just fixed my Jim Croce cassette tonight
ALBUM: Life and times (His last album)
The cassette it was in had a horrible pad,it sounded horrible....... It DID have rollers which I was surprised at!! (70s Blue cassette)
I put it in another shell that has a good pad........
Makes me sad/mad when I think of all the beautiful analogue material that made it to cassette in the late 60s/70s but wont ever be heard good because they made crap back then which is very sad!
CARTRIDGES WITH NO ROLLERS/Pads..... I have seen cassettes firom 1981 without rollers!!
Who are these idiots that make thie crap and expect it to play??
Most people wont do as I do and put the spools in another shell or whatever........... I value my media and when I get something analogue,I dont wanna lose it if I can help it!!

Electric shower. It was smoking a bit...
Turned out to be a loose connection, replaced the burnt out connector and wires.
Mrs K's dreams of a new shower are shattered... But I do need her to test drive the repair, for safety reasons
("It was an honest mistake any diy, colour blind electrician could have made Constable..")

Re: What have you fixed lately?
Put a new towel rail up in the bathroom that's been loose for 15 odd years and I had been avoiding it because of plasterboard walls but using the Gripit plasterboard fixings makes it a doddle with no fear of them falling out over time.

Re: What have you fixed lately?
Our living room coffee table.
Noticed a screw on the floor yesterday, near the table.
On checking, it had fell out of the table, so one of the legs was now loose.
I put it back and noticed others had loosened over time, so tightened them all up.

Re: What have you fixed lately?
Replaced the swelling battery in my mobile phone, easy, but a little fiddly.

Re: What have you fixed lately?
Finally fixed the wall around my New Boiler that was installed in May which left small areas of none painted plasterboard around some of it. I couldn't remember what paint I used 25+ years ago so just bought a couple of £2.50 touchup sample paints and on the second attempt I got a close enough match, it was never going to be perfect because the paint had faded and I didn't want to paint the whole Kitchen so it'll have to do!
