My message is I can see in my minds eye rows and rows of white stone all the hundreds of my friends and everybody else who gave their lives for what? the country of today no I'm sorry the sacrifice wasn't worth the result it is now.

yeah it is very moving

Sorry he feels that way, but pretty sure it was worth winning WW2, rather being under the yoke of a Fascist regime that slaughtered 6 million Jews, and millions more Gypsies, gays, and others they regarded as "inferior races" and "undesirables" such as those with disabilities...

If his comrades hadn’t made their sacrifice, and the UK had been invaded/occupied /conquered, those who had died wouldn't have had those "rows and rows of white stone"…
