			UPDATE:
Virgin Media UK are maybe set to launch ''Greyhound'' via the red button on Sky Sports Racing HD for their Premier Greyhound Racing.

Premier Greyhound Racing has been shown on the red Button since Sky Sports pick up the right last year.

Some Premier Greyhound Racing are shown on Sky Sports Racing HD when no horse Racing are on or about about to go off.

 | The Service Name is GreyHorse. Surely Virgin TV don't make mistakes.

...speaking of Virgin Media "mistakes" they have ignored the last 2 rebrands of Sky Cinema Action, so it continues to be listed on the EPG with the name of a former rebrand.

Decentralisation doesn't suit Elon, it would restrict his ability to manipulate platform content. Since Elon's acquisition, Twitter has severed all links to Blue Sky. Blue Sky's user count has been rapidly increasing, attracting users dissatisfied with Elon's promotion of far right movement's such as Germany's AfD.

hoping more people come to bluesky. i'm not even going to mention politics but the bot situation on twitter is ridiculous. all the bluetick accounts using chatgpt to tweet generic replies via some sort of bot system. majority i find are Indian based accounts. They're so obvious to spot but people reply to them!

Today happens to be Global Switch Day actually.

Switching to publicly owned digital media is the way to protect against the corporate control of our information.

So —> Twitter/X to Mastodon, Instagram to Pixelfed, WhatsApp to Signal, Reddit to Lemmy, Facebook Messenger to Signal, Facebook to Friendica, YouTube to PeerTube, TikTok to Loops.

Bluesky is owned by VCs and crypto backers. It is NOT public social media.

.. or just dont use any of them.
Aside from Mastodon, I've never heard of any of those alternatives, so I doubt many people would move to them.
If they did somehow become popular, they'll probably get bought out by a "corporate entity with big money" anyway.
[ Not sure what any of this has to do with Virgin TV .. ]

 | Bluesky is run as a benefit corporation so favours making a positive impact on society c.f. Elon's negative impact and the increase of hate filled content on Twitter. It is also decentralised like Mastodon, although it is still in its infancy so doesn't have quite the same level of "federation". There is a small amount of blockchain funding but not enough to be a big influence. Blockchain funding seems to be increasing with small media organisations too but they don't seem to gain very much traction so probably not the best way of funding. Mastodon is fine, it doesn't get the level of engagement needed to be a success and the links between fediverse networks can be tenuous. Signal took a similar path to Bluesky, being set up by one of the founders of Whatsapp. I'm not sure how much I would trust Signal, probably more than Whatsapp under Meta's management and certainly more than I would trust Telegram. The others you mention haven't reached critical mass.

Many “instances” on the other Fediverse platforms have either refused to federate it or have set interactions to a minimal level to monitor that service’s actions based on their current way of running things, especially as Bluesky and Threads have said things that that imply they would collect & use the data of accounts not on their services, and take any interaction with their service’s users as authorisation to do so.

Bluesky and Threads look like they are doing the Decentralised equivalent of Green-washing.

As for how this ties into TV Paul, it’s about information sources (particularly accurate, official and reliable ones) and where they can be found, so it ties into virtually every subject imaginable.

 | We'll have to see, it hasn't even been open to the public for a full year yet. The problem with depending on poorly funded alternatives means there is no guarantee of continuity. Your posts could be here one day and gone the next as your choice of federated servers fails. As we have seen with botsin.space.
