Re: Starmer’s chronicles
I am aware that Starmer has written to all civil servants today, and it sounds like he's doing a U turn in an attempt to repair the damage he did in his recent speech.
I did have a chuckle at the title "Plan for change", it reminded me of the "Planning for growth" when I worked at ntl when they made loads of people redundant and ended up in Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
This Labour government is certainly the most incompetent government I can recall, I was in school during the 1970s Labour government and remember they were pretty useless but being a youngster I can't compare them with this shower.

She's one person ,the entire labour front bench are clueless idiots, but that's ok if you like clueless idiots running the country.

Well the clueless idiots have yet to tank the economy the way that one person did.

Another one judging them on what they might do rather than what they have done.

Everyone in Reform, LibDems, Conservatives and Labour has the skills to crash the economy. They just need to copy Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng.

That ship has sailed.
Her problem was that she didn't have the support of those who really control the economy.
We will see how much long term damage this Labour government does. At least Rachel is now being kept on a tight leash, Starmer has changed the rules on budgets so they are now controlled by number 10 and handed over to her.
I expect her to be gone in the June 2025 reshuffle, maybe Starmer will be gone too.

Well, he joked recently that he could be the next James Bond. Licensed to kill pensioners perhaps?

It will never be allowed to sail. One of the most egregious decisions to hit our economy in centuries should not be allowed to be forgotten. It needs to be remembered as yet another classic example of how the previous government mismanaged our finances.

I'm not sure how Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John are going to cope without their fuel allowance this year.
Maybe we have a fund raising concert for them?
The allowance being paid out to everyone regardless of income was clearly daft. Reform was long overdue.
