Outlander specifically isn't actually owned by Lionsgate, it's under license from Sony and wasn't on other Lionsgate+ regions

Amazon added MGM+ Billy The Kid from MGM Television to Prime this week, Fargo moved from Channel 4 to Prime Video and previously seasons left Netflix in a dozen countries over a year ago.

And as said by others, Lionsgate material is on Amazon in other parts of the world now. So whether Amazon buy them or not, it looks like their futures are now intertwined.

No OB this isn't the death of linear tv, that will continue on.

I last watched something on Prime 7 days ago and the ads were 21 seconds long 2 to 3 times an episode, what I'm seeing today are ads 51 seconds with some over a minute, this is what happens with Freevee ads in my experience and the length has now become an issue for me.

They’ll all be upping the number of ads until people cancel in significant numbers.

 | I don’t know what makes you so sure. It’s up to the broadcasters whether they think it is worthwhile to continue to maintain their scheduled channels.

I think they will view the linear channels to be more trouble than they are worth, but we’ll see.

People subscribing to an entertainment service do not wish to have advertisements added. Sky is an absolute ripoff for introducing and maintaining this practice. But even Sky might be starting to come around to this view.

They’re all mining your data so they can sell it to Tesco. There will be more profits made selling you to advertisers than television to you in the long run.

Big bad Sky didn’t invent TV advertising. None of the entertainment channels on their platform went without advertising revenue, just as there won’t be a streamer doing it either.

 | There are major changes coming, no doubt about. Hence my perhaps comments about Max launching and Sky Atlantic closing.

All the main media cos are talking to each other at the moment and there could be some big announcements ahead. If Paramount isn't sold this year, it will go bankrupt. It owes a debt repayment about now. They are talking to Warners and Comcast about merging.

One option on the table is for the running of Paramount+ and Max to be taken over by Netflix or fully absorbed by them. But Comcast wants to ruin that party, so I doubt that will happen.

Come April when certain regulatory restrictions on Warner expire, I would expect to start hearing things around then. Most pundits reckon that Comcast will take over Warners, so Sky Atlantic may still live and Max may never see the light of day here. And around the same time, we'll hear whether Elon Musk will make his move on Disney.
