Hence why we've fallen for self defeating stuff like Brexit and Boris. The result, the country we've got now. Buck stops with the electorate, they can blame no one but themselves.

They also have more motivation to keep their devolved bretheren in check.
 
London does well when the party in Westminster is the same one as the Mayor but if not, it gets shafted.
