		| Cable and full fibre ISP Virgin Media UK could be about to make a number of significant service changes for July 2020, such as making their existing 516Mbps (36Mbps upload) broadband bundle available to non-TV (standalone) customers and then boosting their TV Oomph plan to a top download of 600Mbps! | |

Interesting, I wonder if the lower tiers will receive a speed bump.

Would be nice, though I doubt it'd happen at the same time. Still Virgin doesn't like having too many different broadband speed packages available and this would be number 6 - so it's possible. I believe the current speeds would be 50, 100, 200, 350, 500, 600 and 1000.

Honestly can't see the lower tiers getting a bump, guess it could make sense to make the 350 package 400 to streamline them a bit more though.

The article mentions that 600 is going to be like the 500 today, you can only get it as a bundle, so it seems as though 500 will be one of the new "normal" tiers. Could be 100, 200, 500, 1000.

I'm interested in an upload increase, 350 > 500 (or 600) is not really worth paying more.

£70 a month is a steal for that deal. No brand loyalty, go where your wallet takes you.

For the future, I quite like the neatness of them all doubling eg after entry level of 100 they go 250/500/1,000.

I have been able to get 500mbits for a while now but I haven't got it because I don't need the extra download speed and would only be getting it for the upload speed which is the same as what I have got on 350mbits. I would be interested in 1gbit purely for the upload speed but it isn't available yet.

 | It’s an embarrassment of riches. I’m over the moon if I get 15Mb from my sky FTTC connection. It varies between 7Mb to 17Mb.

VM’s road map has 2.5G slated for 2025

I'd settle for a hub with a 2.5G port. Though by 2025 that'll have to be 5G or even 10G if the service does 2.5G.
