Re: Coronavirus tracking app
As the app (whichever one gets used in the UK) will have to have Bluetooth turned on then battery uptime comes into the equation.
Assuming the app will (with permission) turn on Bluetooth then those with older phones may see the battery running out whilst they are out and about. What then?

Where did you get that from?
The Apple/Google app or the NHS one?

In the coming weeks.

Probably mid-May, according to this.
Coronavirus: NHS contact-tracing app is tested at RAF base

Re: Coronavirus tracking app
I take it you would have to download the NHS app and it will need to be an OPT In for the data transfer, so only those that wish to use it use it. Those that would prefer to value there privacy will not need to worry in that case as they will not have it on there phone or am i missing something here

No, it’s voluntary

100% there. Perhaps "Big Brother" will not allow you out unless it is active on your phone?
These are indeed interesting times.

Users will be able to delete the app and all associated data whenever they want, and any changes to the way the tool works will be explained and made clear on the platform.

I think what you are hinting at here is that it is going to be made compulsory if you have a smart phone, I will voluntary install it if that's how it is presented but if they make it compulsory then they can go and take a hike.
I can do my shopping on line and i can work from home just the same as i can work in the office so being stuck in the house does not bother me that much.
I am not yet at tinfoil hat stage with this

The Apple/Google thing is just a pre-built solution that other countries can use in their own apps. Hopefully the NHS app will use the Apple/Google API.
If they don't it's not going to work on iPhones as Apple don't let applications broadcast whatever they hell they like.

Re: Coronavirus tracking app
It will be interesting about the false positives.
We know some people will give incorrect information, like when you watch say ants on TV you can feel them on you.
You could see symptoms that are not there, but paranoia wins over.

I agree with you, just put forward what the usual suspects would.
Being "stuck" at home doesn't affect me.
