It’s amazing how many public health experts there suddenly are on the internet, and how their expertise aligns so neatly with their political sympathies.
I will simply point out that senior public health officials have been front and centre in explaining the UK’s response so far, and the British media, despite trying very hard, has been unable to find anyone who actually knows what they’re talking about, who thinks the British government, acting on professional advice, had got it wrong so far.

Why is everyone so concentrated on liquid soap? The hard stuff works just as well and lasts longer.

If you look at this plot we see the largest outbreaks are in the yellow zone. It's possible we have fewer cases because we are closer to the green. It's also possible it's because we have less people travelling from Italy. Since we don't share a border in shengen.https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ESm9RTRX...g&name=900x900

 | Although I've just been informed by an expert that regular soap may be better than alcohol sanitizer.

Experts have said for a long time that there is so little in it that it won't do anything and that a good wash with ordinary soap and water will suffice.

It's even been suggested that what you're using will do more harm than good.

Soap and water washes the virus away, Alcohol(in high enough strength, eg Vodka or gin won't work) kills it there and then.

I'm going to be pedantic and point out that you cannot "kill" a virus as it is not alive and has no metabolism of its own.
Antibacterials are a waste of time and money when dealing with cleansing a virus away. A good wash with ordinary soap and water will get the viral particles off your hands.

Beware non or low alcohol sanitisers are useless against it. It is the rinsing action of washing that takes the virus away from the hands.
