				Network engineer wage question?

Hi! I currently work in network maintenance for Vodafone, and have been offered a job at Openreach to train to be a network engineer for them. I'm intrigued by this job, it seems like an interesting career path. I was wondering if anyone does something similar with a large telecoms company and could tell me more about it? I've been told I will earn about £27,000 a year after tax according to this tax calculator (https://www.after-tax.co.uk/ ). Is this a decent wage after training/education? Thanks in advance

"Decent" really depends on where you live.
Here in the East Midlands most people would be very happy to earn 27K a year.

 | Totally overlooked that! I currently work within/near Oxford, but the Openreach job will be not far outside London (Reading/Slough area).

Probably not, but 27K is about £420 per week take home, not over £500 per week.

£27.000p.a. after tax equates to £519.2307692307692p.w.

Ok, I'll give you that one, I didnt realise it was so poorly worded.
Who on earth ever talks about their salary after tax. You quote the original value, which would be about 35K.
