That will depend on whether there is an appetite from the customer to see this happen.

  | Well two of those have not come true and there is diddly squat chance of the other one happening.

It could be that was testing on the V6 but it would be incredibly naive if they left testing on the legacy TivO platform so late in the day.

There was certainly no testing of an Amazon App included in the recent update's testing (just bug reports listed in the Alpha test reports) so perhaps there's been a specific testing program just for this one app or perhaps of course someone decided to wing it and it backfired.

The latter would not surprise me at all.

Amazon Prime wasn't added to the US Premier until March 2015, and that needed an Tivo update to enable it. We didn't get the equivalent update for a long time after that. I can't remember whether it was this last one or the one before. The early part of this year seems to ring a bell. So it was Tivo's software that was the limiting factor for much of the delay time, both here and the USA.

Previous to the update, US Premier's could download purchased Amazon video to Tivo's hard drive. They then lost the ability to do that when Prime was added.

Virgin play these contractual matters close to their chests and don't like premature leaks you get on these forums, which must be the bane of their lives. So by discrediting those sources by releasing false information to them is in VM's interests.

All businesses like to manage their news stories, releasing them at a pre-arranged time. They provide the media with information slightly ahead of time with an embargo set for the publication of that information. The media co-operate with these embargoes because they know that they will not be given this information ahead of time if they are breached, putting them at a disadvantage with their competitors.

These forums, however, are a complete free for all and play havoc with the management of business information.

Everyone should treat the stories they read on forums with a large pinch of salt unless they are backed up by company or reputable media sources.
