More and M+ still exist for those on them, but are now legacy TV packs. Mix is a new one.

I blame UK TV for starting this stupid naming system when they introduced 'Dave' as a channel name!

What could be simpler for deciding packages in order of increased content:

Medium (M), a bit more M+ Large (L) etc. No, let's confuse people by using names that do not suggest any rising order

Re: New bundles

My view is that the idea of the change is that the TV pack names now align to the bundles (excluding VIP)

Before it was quite difficult to understand which TV pack you'd get in the 'Big Fun' etc.

This was the idea when VM implemented this system straight after the rebranding. They said that they had done it to simplify things.

Re: New bundles

And at the time it was. Both ntl and Telewest had completely different names for a range of TV, Broadband and Phone packages.

So there was a need to introduce a consistent naming structure across the combined company.

But that was over 9 years ago.

Yes, the simplified system became less so as M became their Freeview offering, M+ was introduced and then More TV.

M+ was a renaming of Telewest's 'Starter' pack. They stopped selling it to new customers for a bit when they became VM but eventually decided to start selling it again. I've had this package since the Telewest days.

I rang VM up to do exactly that yesterday. I asked about the deal new customers get and they've given me nine months for £99. Not as good as new customers but I don't want to leave VM and that's a fair price. Was told to ring back in nine months and they will most likely continue the discount.

Give them a ring and you should get a deal.

On a separate note, I don't seem to be able to watch Sky Sports or Sky Cinema on my phone, iPad or laptop.

Phoned up and was told it's because of an issue with the move to new bundle names.

Anyone else having the same problem?

I'm not sure why the new bundles would affect the Sky apps.

I did check with some colleagues after I posted this. Apparently there was an issue after all the changes on the 1st September, but that it should now be resolved.

So you should find you can now access Sky Cinema content on your devices now.

Re: New bundles

Phoned up for a new remote yesterday for one of the Tivos and to renew my upfront line rental. Operator told me i could move from Big Daddy to Full House Movies and Sport and my bill will go down from £107.50 to £87.87 fixed for 12 months for exactly the same things.

Thought it was a good idea for 3 Tivos, 200mb broadband and M package phone calls, waiting on the paperwork for written confirmation.

Is it 12 months then back up in price for the following 6 months on an 18 month contract though?
