New bundle refresh up on virgin site
I just had a look on the virgin website and noticed the bundles have been refreshed
The big kahuna bundle is now only 100mbit and there is no option to upgrade it to 200
200 is only available on the VIP bundle, so I wonder if this is virgins way to make the prices look more attractive?

Re: New bundle refresh up on virgin site
Hmmm, VIP seems cheap now and also I see they are all now 12 month contracts instead of 18.
Seems to be the new trend for 12 month contracts, which is so much better.

Looks like its time for me to renegotiate, drop my broadband speed and save a bundle of money

Re: New bundle refresh up on virgin site
No Sky Sport HD included in Sports Kahuna and VIP, surely a must for sports fans and already increases the cost by £7/month.
Not as attractive now I'm afraid

For me, I am going to wait and see what's happens to the bundles/prices when the new tivo comes out and VM uplift the broadband speeds.
Liberty's boss said in the last City presentation that the 200mb package is going to 300mb. So, perhaps the other tiers might change as well.
Until I know the full prices, after the price rises and what services VM will offer, I am just going to wait, otherwise I might not be able to get a deal then if I renegotiate one now.

Genuine question here but what can you do with 300mb that you currently can't with 200mb surely at some stage broadband speeds become irrelevant for the majority.

This used to be the norm until companies started bringing in 18 month contracts; you're right it is much better.

AIUI VM are to reform their packages, so this sounds very sensible.

Unfortunately, VM often have errors on their website.

Most people dont really need 200M (or use it, I rarely hit that).
I have the package for the upload speeds, not the download speed.

Depends what you're doing. If you're grabbing a full bluray, every mb makes the difference.
But I agree, at some point soon speed will become irrelevant. I wouldn't be surprised that when VM move over to DOCSIS3.1, everyone gets a 1gb service. It just means that if we want to download something, it becomes instant and talk of speed will just fade. What will will we have to moan about then?

Good to know, many thanks.
I've got a few months to go yet for my renewal so I'll see what's around then

You can change the broadband speed in the bundle builder, Big Kahuna with 200mb is £73pm according to the bundle builder.

Re: New bundle refresh up on virgin site
Do not think it is a misprint. If you look at the VIP package it nows says hd sports available
for a little extra each month.A backward step in my opinion.
