Superhub SuperHub 2 DHCP.

Hello y'all.

I've got one of those infamously poopoo SuperHub 2s.
For some reason, every few weeks or so - the DHCP craps out on it.

It seems to be related to the ethernet connections, because regardless of whether I reboot, or do a factory reset, it'll only return to a sensible state of allowing normal IP addresses, if I remove the ethernet devices.

So I'll be happily browsing on my desktop (connected via ethernet), then all of a sudden I'll lose connectivity. Disabling and enabling the ethernet card does naff all but return a 169 address. The wireless still broadcasts on both bands, but then I get a similar state of affairs, that dreaded 169 address.

If I remove my ethernet cables, the wireless will spring into life. If I place an ethernet cable back in, it's fine. If I place the other two back in, it's pot luck as to whether it's going to wet the bed or not.

My desktop (Windows) and Xbox are both 1000Mbps ethernet. My telly (Sony Android jobby) is 100Mbps.

All three are connected at the moment without a hitch, but I have no idea when or why it's going to throw its toys out of the pram again.

Can anyone shed any light?

Post the downstream, upstream and network log stats from your hub, which can be found here: http://192.168.0.1/RouterStatus.html

Thanks. Forgot to ask for the 'Information' stats as well, which contains the firmware software version.

your power levels are fine and your VM wan connection has got nothing to do with dhcp leases on the lan side of things. You can see that the factory reset and triggered the download of new firmware so hopefully the problem will be fixed now. If it happens again though I would give VM a tinkle and get a new shub. Shub 1's are absolutely abysmal however shub 2's are rock solid and I haven't heard of this happening before.

Is it a 2 or 2ac? I had all sorts of problems with my 2 the wired connection would work but the wireless connections would lose the internet connection.Eventually the wired would fail as well but a reboot would fix it all, until the next fail. I gave up and bought a separate wireless router and have had no problems since. The 2ac as far as I'm aware hasn't had this problem.

I didn't think any of my power levels would be relevant to the question in hand, but I posted them because I was asked.
It's a strange one, that's for sure.

It's just a SuperHub 2, not the AC.

I agree. The modem stats are of no relevance to this case.

If you post your issue in the VM forum, when the staff get to you, they'll either organise an technician to see what's what or send you a replacement hub.

It's just this moment happened again after 5 days 11 hours connected.
I removed all three ethernet cables, then plugged the desktop one back in - and it's picked up an IP address again.

It's so bizarre. I've ruled out the NIC, on the basis that the wireless goes kaput too.

All my diagnostic experience (and I have some professionally) tells me that each component in the chain needs to be examined and replaced when other components have been eliminated from suspicion. I assume that none of your Ethernet cables are dodgy.

I'd get a tech out and see if they can put in a 2ac.
