Did I miss something? I thought the PM was elected, not appointed - I don't recall voting for her. What the hell?!

You thought wrong.
Go back to the beach, we can explain later.

Re: [Updated] Theresa May is new UK PM
Saw online somewhere that Mrs May had written "F. Off." next to Boris's name and some hapless civil servant had misinterpreted this as "Foreign Office"

I think May has been very clever in placing Boris in the FO..How long before he commits a total balls up and then will be gone? Any takers?

Yep totally agree Maggy I think that's exactly why she has done it and it's a safe bet as for an intelligent man which Boris is he makes the most ridiculously basic mistakes and I doubt he'll make it a year before his political coffin lid is nailed shut. So far Theresa May has obliterated the modern Tories and what they stand for she's keeps this up and implements her rhetoric I may have to vote in the next general election as I couldn't in the last one due to what the conservatives had become.

Re: [Updated] Theresa May is new UK PM
Well, my mind is open on this. Yes, there are the gaffes but I've watched him do Q & A as London Mayor and was very impressed. These meetings require you to know your job inside out and upside down, to have plans, to know your budgets, resources, strategies etc and to be fair, he was well up on his game.
I think he is judged on perception rather than his true capability. Give the man a chance in what is a tough job and then we'll have a true indication of his worth. I think he will surprise some. I hope so anyway because our future depends on how this group of people perform; it won't help if we knock them down.

Re: [Updated] Theresa May is new UK PM
He didn't manage budgets, etc. - the Tories hired a manager to do all the detailed work because Boris wasn't bothered/interested in that...

Re: [Updated] Theresa May is new UK PM
It's not so much a case of closed minds just judging him on his past which is not overly impressive and I think it's pretty clear he is being set up to fail and looking at his past he's very likely to fail.

The PM has the Treasury to manage budgets but the big decisions are made by the person in charge.
You're not a fan of Boris then?

Re: [Updated] Theresa May is new UK PM
Boris looks like a buffoon, Bliar on the other hand, looks sharp, talks the talk and sounds credible in a £1000 suit. Who's better?
If he was from one minority or the other he'd be claiming some form of human rights violation.

Anyone missing Dave yet?
Have you noticed how Britain is getting better since he was thrown in the bin?
