New router recommendations

I'll be getting a new SuperHub in the next couple of weeks as I'm getting the new 200 Mbps upgrade. I plan to put it into modem mode and I was hoping some one a good router for me which has good wireless capabilities.

Re: New router recommendations

If you are getting 200Mbps you will either get the AC or 3, both have pretty decent WiFi.

Any Asus router. The Asus RT-N66U is a highly recommended 802.11n router and there are ac models too. Check Amazon for your preference of spec.

Re: New router recommendations

After using a DLink DIR655 for many years (fantastic router) l recently bought an Asus RT AC68U for its dual band and AC capabilities. Its been a good experience so far. Wireless range is good, easy to set up and the UI is easy to navigate.

Re: New router recommendations

I am in the same boat as you dude and was going to go for an Asus. I have been looking at the AC3200, 88U and 87U and although they have their merits, the equivalent Linksys models all outperform in wireless performance and wan to lan throughout. Before buying one you should really read some reviews and look at some charts. I really had my heart set on the AC3200 or 88U but it doesn't look like they are as good as they are made out to be. If I were you I would like at the Linksys EA8500 or 9200.

Re: New router recommendations

the 56U and 66U are excellent routers but you need to be looking beyond that now. Wireless is getting better and better and is going to be the way forward for all your devices around the house to communicate and you are going to need a quality ac router to keep up.

Re: New router recommendations

I have the Netgear R7000 and that works fine. The specs/performance were similar enough to the Asus/Linksys equivalents that price became more important and at some £50 cheaper helped make choice for me.

Gone into modem mode and just purchased the Asus RT-AC87U. Brilliant bit of kit and value for money.
